CPSC Warns Consumers to Stop Using Wnd and Clouds Magnetic Sensory Fidget Balls: Loose Magnets Pose a Deadly Ingestion Hazard to Children
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a product safety warning on October 29, warning number 27-048, urging consumers to stop using Magnetic Sensory Fidget Balls sold by Wnd and Clouds immediately and dispose of them.
The warning covers about 377 units. The product is a set of four silicone magnetic balls, each with a different silicone texture and a different shade of green, about 1.18 inches in diameter, sold in a round black storage case; the CPSC said it is also aware of a set of eight. The balls were made in China and were sold online at SHEIN.com from April 2026 through July 2026 for about $4, and may also have been sold by third-party sellers and on other websites.
The CPSC said the balls violate the mandatory standard for toys because they are loose high-powered magnets, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system, causing perforations, twisting or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
The CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to Foshan Fengqiyun Trading Co., Ltd., doing business as Wnd and Clouds, of China, and said the company has been unresponsive to the agency's request to recall the products. Because there is no recall, no refund is offered: the CPSC urges consumers to stop using the toys immediately, throw them away, and not sell or give away the hazardous products.
