The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia announced that a federal jury convicted Jeffrey Charles Williams, 42, of Alexandria, Virginia, on charges of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on a premises where a child is present, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession with intent to distribute 1,4-Butanediol, a chemical analogue of gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB).

According to court records and evidence presented at trial, on March 10, Fairfax County Police observed Williams, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, at a store. Officers detained Williams and saw firearms and ammunition in plain view inside his vehicle. A search of the vehicle recovered methamphetamine, packaging material, scales, $1,300, a rifle, three shotguns, knives, ammunition and magazines, body armor, and police badges. As a previously convicted felon, Williams cannot legally possess firearms or ammunition.

On April 2, investigators searched the residence Williams shares with his child and the child's mother and recovered from his bedroom 26.8 pounds of methamphetamine, scales, packaging material, a handgun, a rifle, ammunition, and $2,271.

Williams faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to life in prison when he is sentenced on January 27, 2027. A federal district court judge will determine the sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. U.S. District Judge Rossie D. Alston Jr. accepted the verdict. The case is No. 1:26-cr-114.

Theophani K. Stamos, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Jeffrey L. Tyler, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Washington Field Office's Criminal Division; and Kevin Davis, Fairfax County Chief of Police, made the announcement. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Marc J. Birnbaum and Christopher M. Carter are prosecuting the case, which is part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative.
