TriMas Q3 Sales Rise 7.7% to $178.7 Million; Adjusted EPS Jumps 194% to $0.50 as Full-Year Outlook Is Reaffirmed

Packaging and industrial products maker TriMas (Nasdaq: TRS) reported results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026. Net sales rose 7.7% to $178.7 million, driven by organic growth within TriMas Packaging and Specialty Products and favorable foreign currency translation. Operating profit was $11.5 million, versus an operating loss of $3.2 million a year earlier; adjusted operating profit rose 47.9% to $13.6 million.
Income from continuing operations was $13.5 million, or $0.37 per diluted share, versus a loss of $4.9 million, or $0.12 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted income from continuing operations was $18.1 million, and adjusted diluted EPS rose 194.1% to $0.50. Free cash flow was $20.9 million, versus $4.0 million a year earlier.
Following the divestiture of TriMas Aerospace, which generated about $1.2 billion in net after-tax proceeds, the company ended the quarter with $1,158.5 million in cash and total debt of $397.1 million, a substantial net cash position. Year to date it repurchased about 2.23 million shares for $82.7 million, a 5.3% net reduction in shares outstanding from December 31, 2025.
TriMas reaffirmed its full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS outlook of $1.60 to $1.70 and raised expected combined Packaging and Specialty Products sales growth to 4% to 6%, from 3% to 6% previously. President and CEO Thomas Snyder said 2026 has been a pivotal year as the company builds a stronger, more focused TriMas after the Aerospace divestiture, with cost-reduction actions contributing to year-over-year profit improvement.
