Methanex Corporation (TSX: MX; NASDAQ: MEOH), the world's largest producer and supplier of methanol, reported on October 29, 2026, that net income attributable to Methanex shareholders for the third quarter was $265 million, or $3.42 per common share on a diluted basis, compared with a net loss of $7 million in the third quarter of 2025. Revenue for the quarter was $1,388 million, up about 50% year over year.

Adjusted net income was $284 million, or $3.69 per share, and Adjusted EBITDA was $543 million, compared with $191 million a year earlier. President and CEO Rich Sumner said the Middle East conflict's dramatic impact on the methanol industry persisted through the third quarter, with the significant loss of industry supply supporting ongoing pricing strength, and that the company's enhanced asset base continued to run well, particularly in North America.

Methanex produced 2,143,000 tonnes of methanol in the quarter, with record North American production, and total methanol sales volume was 2,595,000 tonnes. The average realized price was $510 per tonne, compared with $345 a year earlier. The company generated $646 million of cash flows from operating activities and ended the quarter with $912 million in cash, in addition to an undrawn $400 million revolving credit facility. It paid a quarterly dividend of $0.185 per share, totaling $14 million.

The company also announced an agreement to sell substantially all of its remaining New Zealand natural gas contractual entitlements commencing in the first quarter of 2027 through the end of the decade. Its New Zealand production facilities are expected to be indefinitely idled during the first quarter of 2027, resulting in a $10 million restructuring accrual. Methanex has given notice to redeem $300 million of its $700 million bonds due in October 2027 and expects to redeem the final $400 million during the fourth quarter of 2026.

Subsequent to the quarter, on October 29, 2026, the company announced approval of a normal course issuer bid to repurchase up to 3,868,213 common shares, about 5% of its outstanding shares, through November 3, 2027.
