CDPH Urges Californians to Get COVID-19, Flu and RSV Vaccines Ahead of the Holiday Season

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) on October 29 urged Californians to get vaccinated against COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) before the holiday season, saying all three vaccines are now available and covered for most people through health insurance, including Medi-Cal (news release NR26-033).
CDPH recommends a flu vaccine for everyone six months and older; COVID-19 vaccination for higher-risk groups including children 6-23 months old, adults 65 and older and people who are pregnant; and RSV vaccination for infants up to 8 months, people who are 32-36 weeks pregnant, and adults 75 and older.
The three vaccines can be given at the same visit. Californians without insurance can contact their local health department or use the state's MyTurn platform to find a vaccination location.
"As we head into the holiday season, one of the best gifts we can give ourselves and the people around us is the protection that vaccination provides," said Dr. Erica Pan, CDPH Director and State Public Health Officer.
