San Dieguito Union High School District Board Candidate in San Diego County, California, Accused on October 29 of Hiding Extremist Vaccine Views: Faces Doyle, Vote on November 3

Summer Boger, a candidate for the board of the San Dieguito Union High School District in San Diego County, California, was accused on October 29 of hiding a far-right agenda in her campaign, including opposition to vaccines, in what was described as a “Trojan Horse” campaign. According to KPBS, Boger's campaign website describes her as an educator, a healthcare practitioner and a mother, but in a 2023 webinar cited by KPBS she claimed that vaccines contain aborted fetal tissue and human DNA and suggested that vaccines in part cause children to identify as gay or transgender. The report also cited her remarks at the webinar likening what abortion clinics do to ancient rituals of sacrificing babies. In a statement to KPBS, Boger responded that she is keeping her focus on the job the seat actually does, noting that a school board does not set vaccine policy, abortion policy, or many of the other items mentioned. KPBS reported that Boger has been endorsed by the San Diego County Republican Party in the nonpartisan school board race, and that she faces Helen Doyle, with voting on Tuesday, November 3.
