California: Employment Training Panel Approves 19 Projects in October, With Over $4 Million to Train More Than 3,000 Workers Statewide

California's Employment Training Panel (ETP) approved 19 training projects at its October 2026 panel, representing over $4 million in approved funding to support training for over 3,000 trainees statewide.
The ETP is the state agency that funds job skills training for incumbent and newly hired workers, helping employers in industries such as manufacturing, health care and information technology upgrade their workforce. Approved projects are funded in stages under the panel's performance-based contracts.
Separately, the ETP, together with the Employment Development Department (EDD), the Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA) and the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB), received the Best IT Collaboration Among Organizations Award at the recent California Technology Summit for the Enterprise Time Reporting (ETR) system.
Led by the EDD, the initiative modernized time reporting across the participating agencies. To date, ETR has processed over 1.5 million leave requests and approximately 360,000 electronic timesheets, contributing to a 40 percent reduction in reconciliation issues.
