Las Posadas Returns to Olvera Street December 16 to 24: Nightly Processions Free Since 1930

Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, hosts Las Posadas nightly at 6:30 p.m. from December 16 to 24—nine evenings of processions, free and open to all.
The Mexican tradition has been kept on Olvera Street since 1930: figures of Mary and Joseph lead a candlelit procession seeking lodging, followed by carolers singing in Spanish and English, with a children's piñata breaking and live entertainment each night. Complimentary sweet bread and champurrado are traditionally served.
The celebration takes place at El Pueblo Historical Monument, 125 Paseo de la Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90012, a short walk from Union Station. No reservations are needed; arriving early is recommended.
