Old Globe Lights Its Christmas Tree November 8 at 6 P.M.: Free Ceremony, Reservations Required
The Old Globe in Balboa Park, San Diego, San Diego County, California, holds its 21st annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 8 at 6 p.m. on Copley Plaza—free to attend, with advance reservations required.
This year's tree was designed by John Lee Beatty, scenic designer of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Cast members from the Grinch will perform at the ceremony, which also features falling "snow," officially opening the Globe's holiday season: the Grinch musical began performances November 4, and the comedy Ebenezer Scrooge's BIG San Diego Christmas Show follows on November 20.
The Old Globe is located at 1363 Old Globe Way, San Diego, CA 92101. Reservations are made through the theatre's official website; capacity is limited.
