Registered Sex Offender Arrested in Corona Fitting Room Case, Bail Raised to $1 Million

Corona police officers responded to a business on the 1200 block of Magnolia Avenue in Corona, Riverside County, California, after an adult male was reportedly seen placing his cellphone underneath a fitting room door while a teenage girl was changing, the City of Corona Police Department said in an October 30 statement.
When officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot. During the pursuit, a citizen driving by allowed officers to jump into his vehicle, helping them safely get closer to the fleeing suspect and leading to his arrest without further incident. The department publicly thanked the community member who stepped in to assist.
The suspect was identified as Ivan Gallardo Lopez, 38, a Riverside resident. He was arrested on several charges related to child annoyance and unlawful recording; a department case flyer lists California Penal Code section 647.6(a), annoying or molesting a child under 18, among the charges. Police also confirmed that Lopez is a registered sex offender under California Penal Code 290.
A magistrate approved a $1 million bail enhancement, and Lopez remains in custody. Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information about this case or other incidents involving Lopez to contact Sr. Detective Jason Goudy at (951) 739-4880 or [email protected], referencing Case #26-072358. The investigation is ongoing.
