Austrian Chancellor Stocker to Pay Official Visit to China From November 2 to 7
China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun announced at the regular press conference on October 30, 2026, that Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker will pay an official visit to China from November 2 to 7.
Stocker became Austria's federal chancellor in 2025, leading a three-party coalition of the People's Party, the Social Democratic Party and NEOS. China and Austria established diplomatic relations in 1971 and set up a friendly strategic partnership in 2018. The two countries maintain close economic, trade, scientific and cultural exchanges, and Austria is one of China's important cooperation partners in Europe.
The detailed itinerary and meeting arrangements of the visit will be released by the Foreign Ministry in due course.
