California: Dropbox and Front Cut 110 Jobs in San Francisco as Bay Area Tech Layoffs Continue

San Francisco, California — San Francisco's tech industry took another hit this week as cloud storage company Dropbox and customer-service company Front cut a combined 110 jobs in the city, the New York Post reported Oct. 30.
Dropbox announced on Oct. 28 that it would eliminate 57 San Francisco positions effective Nov. 18, part of a global reduction of about 200 roles. Front cut 53 workers on Oct. 27. Dropbox is headquartered at 50 Hawthorne Street in San Francisco, and Front at 300 Montgomery Street.
According to California WARN filings, tech companies have announced plans to eliminate nearly 14,500 Bay Area positions in 2026. Amazon said in August it would cut 148 jobs at its Sunnyvale and San Francisco offices, and has eliminated roughly 30,000 corporate positions in two rounds of layoffs since October 2025. The once-booming Bay Area tech industry continues to shrink, with further pressure expected on local job seekers and related services.
