CPSC Warns Consumers to Stop Using Yfwsrecinoe-Brand Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors Immediately: About 51,825 Units Fail to Alarm in Smoke and Fire

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to stop using combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms sold under the JuzhiAnn, Yfwsrecinoe and JAEHSK brand names, model JZA-540COM, immediately. The detectors fail to alarm in the presence of hazardous smoke and fire, posing a risk of serious injury or death from smoke and fire hazards.

The white plastic detectors have a digital display and were sold as single units or in multipacks, about 51,825 units in all, on Amazon.com and eBay.com from November 2023 through October 2026 for between $11 and $107. They were manufactured in China, and the retailer is Shenzhen Laijinhe Trading Co., Ltd., doing business as Yfwsrecinoe US, of China. CPSC is aware of seven reports of the alarms failing to alert in the presence of smoke or fire.

CPSC said the retailer has been unresponsive to its request to recall the products. The commission urges consumers to stop using the detectors immediately, dispose of them and install working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. The hazardous products should not be sold or given away.

CPSC also advises installing smoke alarms and CO detectors on each level of the home and outside separate sleeping areas, using alarms that are battery operated or have battery backup, testing them frequently and replacing batteries as needed. Consumers should only buy smoke alarms and CO detectors that meet the UL 2034 and UL 217 safety standards.

Consumers can check the model and disposal steps in the CPSC warning notice and report product defects or related incidents through CPSC's SaferProducts reporting channel.
