Moon Base Update Set for 5 p.m. on November 7: NASA Releases Key Events for MAX POWER Expo, November 6-8 at Kennedy Space Center

NASA on October 30 released media advisory M26-084 announcing key events for MAX POWER, described by the agency as America's newest aerospace expo and air show, to be held November 6-8 on and near the agency's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
During the event, NASA and a variety of external collaborators will showcase the newest aircraft, autonomous vehicles and technologies defining the future of air and space. NASA will display its quiet supersonic X-59 plane, and partners will showcase Moon rovers, spacecraft and more. The expo is also a culmination of the agency's recent Inspiration Tour, which included flyovers highlighting NASA's fleet of aircraft.
Family-friendly public events will take place on November 7 and November 8, with gates opening at 9 a.m. EST on both days, offering opportunities to meet NASA leadership, astronauts, engineers, scientists and other subject matter experts.
The most closely watched moment comes on November 7: at 5 p.m., NASA will host a news conference to provide its latest Moon Base update. Located near the lunar South Pole, the Moon Base is humanity's first outpost for long-term lunar exploration. The conference will stream live online. Participants include NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, Moon Base director Carlos García-Galán, Science associate administrator Nicky Fox and Moon Base Program utility and infrastructure director Dayna Ise, with NASA experts available for one-on-one interviews afterward.
Other key events on November 7 include a 10 a.m. nuclear NASA media gaggle with Space Reactors Division director Cynthia Simmons, 11:30 a.m. opening air show remarks by Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson, a 12:45 p.m. meet-the-astronauts session with the Artemis III crew - commander Randy Bresnik, ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano and mission specialist Frank Rubio, with backup crew member Bob Hines - and a 2 p.m. session on the Roman Space Telescope with Julie McEnery. Administrator Isaacman will also take part in F-5 and MiG-29 flyovers on November 7 and 8.
Events on November 8 include a 9 a.m. X-59 media gaggle with Aeronautics Division director Laurie Grindle, Quesst mission manager Peter Coen and test pilot Jim Less, a 10 a.m. student challenge announcement at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Rocket Garden, and 12:45 p.m. sessions including the United States Space Academy and a meet-the-astronauts session with SpaceX Crew-12 members Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway.
NASA said media credentialing for the event is closed, approved media must request interviews in advance, and space in the news conference is limited and first come, first served, with virtual participation available. The full schedule is on NASA's MAX POWER page.
