10 Years in Prison Plus 20 Years of Supervision: Maine Woman Anna LaRochelle Sentenced for Possessing Child Pornography, With a 2016 Prior Conviction

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maine announced that Anna LaRochelle, of Kingfield, Maine, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography, to be followed by 20 years of supervised release.
U.S. District Judge Stacey D. Neumann imposed the sentence in federal court in Bangor. LaRochelle, 36, pleaded guilty on April 15, 2026.
According to court records, investigators conducting a search warrant in May 2024 found child pornography depicting a toddler on LaRochelle's phone.
Prosecutors noted that LaRochelle had a previous conviction in 2016 for unlawful sexual contact with a child, and was therefore subject to an enhanced sentence under federal law.
Jeffrey Grimming, acting special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England, said LaRochelle had been found with sexually exploitative photos of a very young child despite the previous conviction and court-ordered supervision, and that the sentence puts her behind bars and far away from vulnerable children.
Homeland Security Investigations and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit - Special Victims investigated the case, which was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, the nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006.
The Justice Department listed reporting channels in its announcement: incidents involving child pornography can be reported through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline or by calling 1-800-843-5678, and people in Maine who have been sexually assaulted or abused can call the free, confidential statewide helpline at 1-800-871-7741.
