Sentenced but Still Dealing Before Prison: Stamford Man Danny Turkvan Gets 14 Additional Months on Top of a 46-Month Term

Friday, October 30, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut announced on October 30 that Danny Turkvan, 55, of Stamford, also known as "Smooth," was sentenced that day in Bridgeport by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill to an additional 14 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine after he had been sentenced in another federal case and before he reported to prison.

On August 13, 2025, Turkvan was sentenced in Hartford federal court to 46 months in prison and three years of supervised release for his participation in a southwestern Connecticut narcotics trafficking conspiracy. Released on a $150,000 bond, he had been ordered to report to prison on October 16, 2025.

An investigation revealed that Turkvan continued to distribute narcotics after his August 2025 sentencing. Stamford Police arrested him on state charges on October 11, 2025, and seized crack cocaine that he intended to distribute. He has been detained since that arrest.

On July 8, 2026, Turkvan pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, or crack. The additional 14-month term comes on top of his earlier 46-month sentence.

The case was investigated by the Stamford Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Patricia Stolfi Collins.
