11 Original Songs, 9.5 Million Streams: 'Songs Inspired by The Chosen' Album Arrives, Led by Phil Wickham's Single for a Friend Battling Cancer

Nashville — The global hit series The Chosen has a new companion in music: Songs Inspired by The Chosen: Seasons 1–5, an album of 11 original songs, was released on October 30 by 5&2 Studios, the creators of the series, together with Capitol Christian Music Group. The release is led by Phil Wickham's single "SOS (Don't Let Me Go)," whose lyric video is out now on The Chosen's official channel.

Unlike a conventional soundtrack, the album does not collect songs heard in the show. Instead, artists with a personal connection to the series were invited to respond in original music to specific scenes, characters and themes from the first five seasons. The full lineup includes Phil Wickham, Boyz II Men, Franni Cash, Tyler Hubbard, Lady A, LOST & FOUND, Jamie MacDonald, Blessing Offor, Jac Ross, Stephen Stanley, Madison Ryann Ward and Anne Wilson.

Wickham said "SOS (Don't Let Me Go)" came from a deeply personal place: as a close friend battled cancer, he prayed for him and kept returning to the story of Peter walking on water, and the reminder to keep his eyes on Jesus through life's greatest storms. Weeks into writing the song, the Chosen team asked him to write one inspired by that very story. Watching Peter cry out, "Don't let me go," he said he saw himself, his friend, and everyone who needs Jesus because they cannot do it on their own.

The rollout began in August with Tyler Hubbard's "All I Need Is You," followed by Jamie MacDonald's "Roots," inspired by Psalm 1, the Lady A and Boyz II Men collaboration "I Love The One," and LOST & FOUND's "My Everything." According to the labels, the released tracks have generated 9.5 million streams and 1.5 million video views, alongside more than 7,000 short-form creations and over 10 million short-form views.

Anne Wilson's "Even This" draws on the scene in which Little James asks Jesus to heal him. She said the song is about trusting that God can use every part of a person's story, even the most painful parts, and that even when the miracle prayed for does not come in this life, God is still using what a person is walking through.

Cam DeArmond, president of 5&2 Studios, said millions of people around the world connect with The Chosen intimately — through a character, a scene or a storyline — and the studio wanted artists who shared that experience to express it in lyrics and melody, adding another dimension to the series as Season 6 approaches. Brad O'Donnell, president of Capitol Christian Music Group, said the artists involved are not just writing songs, but responding to moments that moved them.

Season 6 of The Chosen premieres November 15 exclusively on Prime Video, where the first five seasons are now streaming, and the feature film The Chosen Crucifixion opens in theaters on March 12, 2027.

The 11 tracks are: "SOS (Don't Let Me Go)" by Phil Wickham; "Roots" by Jamie MacDonald; "I Love The One" by Lady A and Boyz II Men; "My Everything" by LOST & FOUND; "All I Need Is You" by Tyler Hubbard; "Even This" by Anne Wilson; "Exile" by Stephen Stanley; "Open The Well" by Madison Ryann Ward; "Broken Me" by Blessing Offor; "Beautiful Faith" by Franni Cash; and "Follow Me" by Jac Ross.
