Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's Hosts Halloween Party With Rams Players and Handmade NICU Costumes

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, announced on October 30 that its Guerin Children's hospital hosted a Halloween celebration for young patients and their families, with Los Angeles Rams players and community volunteers taking part.
According to Cedars-Sinai, Rams players joined current and former patients at a Halloween party in the Guerin Children's Healing Garden, playing games, handing out treats and posing for photos, while team mascot Rampage appeared in a turkey costume. For children unable to leave their rooms, the players made bedside visits, signed hats and posed for photos. Player Myles Garrett said it is an amazing time anytime you can put smiles on children's faces, especially when they are going through things, and be a light in someone's life for a moment.
In the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, parents selected handmade costumes for their babies' first Halloween. Sewn by volunteers and inspired by storybook characters, the outfits use Velcro to accommodate medical wires and tubes; parents chose designs including a pumpkin, watermelon, Minnie Mouse, a tiger and a ladybug.
Bevin Merideth, associate director of the NICU at Guerin Children's, said the volunteer-made costumes and staff costumes bring some normalcy to a NICU stay and make parents happy. Hospital staff dressed to match the event's '80s theme.
