The City of Monrovia, in Los Angeles County, California, announced in its October 30 city manager's update that its Halloween Spooktacular and Trick-or-Treat Bash will take place on October 31 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Old Town and Library Park, with costume contests and trick-or-treating at Old Town businesses along Myrtle Avenue.

The city said the event is weather permitting and updates will be shared through city channels. Street closures will run from 1 to 7 p.m. on October 31, including Myrtle Avenue from Palm Avenue to Olive Avenue and the 100 blocks of Palm, Lime, Lemon and Colorado. City Manager Dylan Feik encouraged residents to support Old Town merchants while out.

For the November 3 general election, the Los Angeles County Vote Center at the Monrovia Public Library Community Room is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through November 2, and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. A mobile vote center will be at the Friday Night Street Fair on October 30 from 5 to 9 p.m., and two more vote centers open October 31 at Monrovia High School and the Santa Anita Family YMCA; the library ballot drop box is available 24 hours a day.

The update also previewed a November 4 Station Square South Gate ribbon cutting, November 14 garden and native plant events, and the November 19 Thankful & Grateful holiday gathering and tree lighting at Library Park.
