Follow-Up: Yemen Fighting Has Now Displaced More Than 280,000 People, UNHCR Says Many Cannot Reach Lifesaving Aid Because It Is Too Dangerous

More than 280,000 people have now been displaced by fighting in Yemen and many of the most vulnerable are unable to access lifesaving relief because it is too dangerous to do so, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) said on Friday, October 30, according to UN News.
Earlier this month, UN reporting said fighting in Taiz alone had forced more than 82,000 people to flee this month, with prices in the city up at least 50 per cent and water supplies halved, while World Health Organization medical supplies have in recent days reached hospitals in the besieged city of Taiz. UNHCR's latest statement shows the displacement total is still climbing across Yemen, with insecurity itself blocking access to aid.
