Los Angeles Seeks Its First Ethics Compliance Officer to Run the Office Created by Measure G

Saturday, October 31, 2026 · California · GSM News

Los Angeles County, California, opened recruitment on October 29 for its first Ethics Compliance Officer, who will lead the new Office of Ethics Compliance created under Measure G, the governance reform measure approved by county voters, and oversee ethics supervision and compliance review across the county.

Measure G passed in November 2024 as the county's most significant governance restructuring in decades, creating an Ethics Commission and the Office of Ethics Compliance. The Board of Supervisors approved the office's framework in May 2026, the first Ethics Commission members were appointed in September 2026, and the compliance system becomes fully operational once the first officer is in place.

The position carries a salary range of $223,394 to $347,424. The search is being assisted by Conselium Compliance Search, and the recruitment stays open until filled, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis. The county says it is looking for a candidate with senior experience in government ethics, compliance investigations or public-sector oversight.
