42nd Belmont Shore Christmas Parade Lights Up Long Beach's 2nd Street on December 5

Belmont Shore in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, hosts its 42nd Annual Christmas Parade, themed "Light Up the Night," on Saturday, December 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. along East 2nd Street. Viewing is free.
More than 100 entries — local marching bands, business and community floats, costumed groups and Santa himself — make it one of Long Beach's biggest nights of the year. East 2nd Street closes to traffic at 4 p.m. (Livingston Avenue at 3 p.m. for staging), and families traditionally stake out curb spots with chairs and blankets well ahead.
The parade route runs through Long Beach's densest dining and shopping strip, making dinner before or after easy. The event is organized by the Belmont Shore Business Association.
No tickets are needed; drivers should use public lots nearby and allow walking time.
