Mountain America Foundation Opens Community Voting: 30 Nonprofits Will Receive $1,000 Each From a $30,000 GivingTuesday Pool

Mountain America Credit Union and the Mountain America Foundation, based in Sandy, Salt Lake County, Utah, announced on October 29 that community voting has opened for the Foundation's 2026 GivingTuesday initiative, inviting residents to help choose which local nonprofits receive grants.
The program will award a total of $30,000 to 30 nonprofit organizations, $1,000 each, across the credit union's five-state footprint of Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Montana and Nevada. Community voting runs from November 2 through November 20, 2026, online or by scanning a QR code at participating branches.
Grant recipients will be announced on GivingTuesday, December 1, 2026, when the grants are awarded, supporting local organizations that provide essential services and resources to individuals and families.
The Foundation said it has donated $84,000 to nonprofits through the GivingTuesday initiative since 2023. Candidate nonprofits are nominated by credit union team members in September before the community vote.
