Recall: About 138 SOOWERY 8-Drawer Fabric Dressers Can Tip Over and Trap Children if Not Anchored to the Wall; Full Refunds Offered
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on October 29 that Shenzhen Zhongyuantong Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as SOOWERY, is recalling about 138 SOOWERY 8-Drawer Fabric Dressers, under recall number 27-049.
The recalled dressers come in gray and black, with eight fabric drawers in a metal frame. They measure about 47.2 inches wide, 11.8 inches deep and 35.4 inches tall and weigh 47.5 pounds. The SKU 'SOO-8DD-G01' is printed on the packaging.
The dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in serious injury or death to children, and they violate the mandatory safety standard for clothing storage units required by the STURDY Act. No incidents or injuries had been reported as of the announcement.
Consumers should stop using the recalled dressers immediately if they are not anchored to the wall, place them in an area children cannot access, and contact SOOWERY for a full refund. To obtain the refund, consumers will be asked to write 'RECALLED' in permanent marker on the top, front and sides of the dresser, remove all drawers, and email photos of the marked and disassembled dresser to [email protected], then dispose of the product.
The dressers were sold on Amazon.com from December 2025 through August 2026 for about $106.
