Hornets Update Kon Knueppel Injury: Completes G League Workout, to Rejoin Team After Road Trip for Evaluation
Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina — Charlotte Hornets head coach Charles Lee updated the status of Kon Knueppel before the October 30 game against the Washington Wizards, in news reported on October 31. Knueppel strained his left hamstring in an offseason workout in September and has missed training camp and the first six games of the season.
Lee said Knueppel had a successful workout with the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League and responded well the next day. He will rejoin the Hornets after their three-game road trip, get acclimated with the team and take another step with contact work before the club assesses when he can return; no specific return date has been announced.
The Hornets are 3-3 despite Knueppel's absence, and are also playing without starting point guard Coby White and forward Grant Williams. In Knueppel's absence, Grayson Allen has provided shooting, averaging 13.5 points per game on 41.5 percent from three-point range.
