Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport Tops J.D. Power Mega Airport Rankings Again: 684 Points, Third Straight Title, Detroit Second

Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota — Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport has again ranked first in the mega airport category in J.D. Power's 2026 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, its third consecutive year on top, in rankings reported on October 31.
On J.D. Power's 1,000-point scale, Minneapolis-Saint Paul scored 684 points, followed by Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport with 663 points and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with 642 points. Travel industry expert Gary Leff said Minneapolis does a lot of things well: the airport is relatively close to both downtowns and has light rail access, and while passengers may face long walks between gates, he said it still feels manageable.
J.D. Power, headquartered in Troy, Michigan, said the highest-ranked airports have recently completed or are close to completing multiyear capital improvement projects, and overall passenger satisfaction increased across all three size categories.
