Andy Cohen and Bravo Settle McSweeney Lawsuit: 'Real Housewives' Star Withdraws Suit, Terms Undisclosed

Saturday, October 31, 2026 · Entertainment · GSM News

Andy Cohen and Bravo have settled the lawsuit brought by 'Real Housewives of New York City' alum Leah McSweeney, Page Six reported on October 30. McSweeney has withdrawn the suit and the settlement figure is undisclosed, sparing the network its first-ever courtroom trial against one of its own cast members.

Her attorney, Gary Adelman, told Page Six on Friday: 'We are extremely satisfied with the outcome [and] we are proud of Leah and her perseverance.' Bravo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

McSweeney, a fashion designer, sued in January 2024 claiming producers preyed on her alcohol addiction — taunting her about her alcohol use disorder and pressuring her to relapse because they believed she would draw better ratings drunk. She also claimed producers promised she could attend AA meetings while filming, then refused once she was on set. Judge Lewis Liman found after a hearing that Bravo had a First Amendment right to require its stars to drink to excess, but said the network should answer for the methods it allegedly used.

Her suit also claimed Cohen had snorted cocaine with favored cast members. Cohen denied the claims and, through his attorney, accused McSweeney of a 'shakedown,' demanding she withdraw the cocaine claim and apologize. McSweeney has issued no apology and Cohen has not filed suit.

McSweeney had been sober for 10 years before relapsing shortly after she began filming in 2019, and regained sobriety before her second season. She starred in two seasons of 'RHONY' and one season of the 'Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip' spinoff, and was the first Bravo star to take a suit against the network into a courtroom.
