Whatever Works Recalls 8,709 Microwave Grills: Overheating and Fire Risk, Three Ignition Reports All Resulted in Fires

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on October 29 that Whatever Works is recalling about 8,709 microwave grills. The recalled grills can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire hazard.
The recall involves Model K4001 microwave grillers, with the model number found on the purchase receipt. The rectangular grills have a white plastic exterior with black locking clips on the side, hinge tabs at the rear, and two non-stick black metal plates.
The firm has received three reports of grills igniting, all resulting in fires. No injuries have been reported.
The grills were sold online only at Whateverworks.com from January 2025 through June 2026 for about $22, by Potpourri Group, Inc., doing business as Whatever Works, of Billerica, Massachusetts. The products were manufactured in Taiwan.
Consumers should stop using the recalled grills immediately and contact Whatever Works for a full refund, the CPSC said. Consumers will be asked to write "Recalled" on the grill in permanent marker and send a photo to [email protected], and will be provided with a prepaid label to return the product. Consumers can also call the company toll-free at 877-756-5053 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or email [email protected]. The recall number is 27-050.
