Kate and William Share First-Ever Halloween Post With Throwback Photo of 1-Year-Old Prince Louis
LONDON — Prince William and Princess Kate marked a royal first on Halloween: on Saturday, October 31, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared their first-ever Halloween-themed post on social media, a throwback photograph of their youngest child, Prince Louis.
According to People, Louis, now 8, can be seen bending down to pick up a large pumpkin in the photograph. Through their joint Instagram account, Kate and William, both 44, wrote "Happy Halloween!" and noted that the image was taken by Kate when Louis was age 1.
The couple have three children: Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. They have celebrated Halloween privately in years past. In 2022, London resident Jay Rutland shared a photo of the Princess of Wales taking her three children to collect candy on Halloween, according to Hello! magazine, writing that Kate knocked on his door with the children while trick-or-treating.
Earlier, in 2019, Kate was spotted in a local supermarket in Norfolk with Prince George and Princess Charlotte picking out Halloween costumes. Local resident Kathy Whittaker told several U.K. newspapers at the time that Kate was asking her children what they were going to be for Halloween.
