Nintendo Declares November 1 Pikmin Day: Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Demo Lands November 2 Ahead of November 12 Launch

Nintendo surprised players on October 31 with a roughly nine-and-a-half-minute Pikmin Day Direct on its official channels, hosted by series creator Shigeru Miyamoto, who declared November 1 'Pikmin Day' — the red, blue and yellow Pikmin standing side by side resemble three number ones, matching 11/1. Miyamoto noted up front that the presentation would contain no news of a new game.
The substance centered on Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy: a free demo arrives November 2 with one regular level area and two Dandori Academy stages, ahead of the full launch on November 12 at $69.99, with a $9.99 upgrade pack for owners of the Switch version. Dandori Academy is a timed treasure-collecting exam mode; Nintendo's official page says 72 stages will be released over time, six per month, with exams held Friday through Sunday. The Switch 2 edition also lets players give voice commands to Oatchi through the console's built-in microphone and supports GameShare for Dandori Battles. A Nintendo Treehouse stream continues the showcase on November 1 at 9 a.m. PT.
Nintendo also launched Hello! Pikmin, an animated shorts series made with Nintendo Pictures: the first episode aired with the Direct, a second follows on November 1, and monthly episodes begin in December via the Nintendo Today app and Nintendo's social channels. Pikmin Bloom will add a 'Secret Caves' update before year's end. This story carries Nintendo's official Pikmin Day Direct video.
