L.A. Comic Con Celebrates 15 Years: Nicolas Cage Takes the Main Stage, Final Day Sunday
The 15th Los Angeles Comic Con (L.A. Comic Con) is under way at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, in California's Los Angeles County. The three-day show opened on October 30 and concludes on Sunday, November 1. Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage is this year's headline guest; on Saturday he took the Main Stage for a spotlight panel on his new series Spider-Noir and his acting career.
According to the organizer's schedule, Cage is appearing on Saturday and Sunday only. Alongside the Main Stage panel, he is taking part in autograph and photo-op sessions on Saturday, and Sunday's sessions are billed as fans' final opportunity to meet him at this year's show. In its guest biography, the organizer notes that Cage's career spans more than four decades and nearly 120 films, and that he currently stars in Spider-Noir, produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, playing an aging private investigator.
The Main Stage also hosts a reunion of the cast of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, with Aaron Paul, Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito and Dean Norris appearing together. The guest lineup also includes Hayden Christensen of Star Wars, Christopher Lloyd of Back to the Future and Krysten Ritter. The organizer says this year's show brings together more than 1,000 artists, vendors and exhibitors across three exhibit halls, with more than 200 panels and live programming sessions, plus the Akiba Station anime area, a gaming hall and Artist Alley.
This year's show falls on Halloween weekend. Saturday's program includes indoor trick-or-treating, with participating exhibitor booths handing out free candy to young costumed attendees starting at noon, while supplies last. On Sunday, the Main Stage hosts a costume contest for children 12 and under.
Visitor information: the show is held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St, Los Angeles. Sunday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Single-day, three-day weekend and VIP tickets are available through comicconla.com; autographs and photo ops with celebrity guests are sold separately and should be booked in advance.
