WASHINGTON — The Nehemiah Alliance held its "Sacred Assembly" prayer gathering on the National Mall on October 31, Reformation Day, as the capstone of its 52-day "Rebuild Initiative" of prayer and fasting. Organizers said the event took place near the Sylvan Theater on the National Mall from 7:14 a.m. to 7:14 p.m., with free admission and no tickets required, and was livestreamed worldwide. The initiative began on September 10 and runs through All Saints' Day on November 1, under the theme "Rebuild the walls, restore the homes, renew the hearts," drawn from the biblical account of Nehemiah rebuilding Jerusalem's walls in 52 days.

Organizers listed featured participants including singer Michael W. Smith, the band Leeland, and prayer leaders, pastors and worship artists such as Lou Engle, Eric Metaxas and R. T. Kendall. The organizers anticipated a global livestream audience of more than seven million across all 50 U.S. states and 100 countries, with broadcast partners including Daystar, CTN, TBN and the organization's website, where remote participants could join the livestream.
