PlayStation Unveils the Transparent Prism Collection: DualSense Controllers and PS5 Covers in Three Colors, Pre-Orders Open November 10
Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) introduced the Prism Collection on its official blog on October 28: three transparent designs for DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers, in Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray, finished with a premium glossy sheen that lets players look inside the controller. The collection's official trailer has been published on PlayStation's official channel.
Leo Cardoso of the Color, Material, and Finish design team said the team knew fans had been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers, and wanted to bring back the iconic see-through trend of the late '90s in a fresh, modern way that complements the PS5's industrial design. Designer Satoshi Aoyagi said the high-gloss clear finish extends across the back of the controller, offering a look at the technology that powers the DualSense, while the metallic finish on the middle cover brings the surfaces together. The three colors were chosen as a vibrant orange that takes on a rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps, a deep hunter green that gains depth through its transparency, and a cool-toned storm gray.
The Prism Collection DualSense controllers will be available globally at a recommended retail price of $84.99. The matching PS5 console covers carry an RRP of $74.99 and will be available exclusively directly from PlayStation where that service operates, and in limited quantities through select retailers in other regions; actual retailer prices and availability may vary.
The collection launches starting February 4, 2027. Pre-orders begin November 10, 2026 at 10 a.m. local time directly from PlayStation and at participating retailers; in the U.S., pre-orders open at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET through direct.playstation.com. Exact launch dates and availability may vary by country and region.
