Polls Show Pritzker With a Large Lead Over Bailey in Illinois Governor's Race

Two polls released on November 1 show Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a Democrat seeking a third term, with a large lead over Republican challenger Darren Bailey. An ActiVote poll conducted October 22 put Pritzker ahead 58.7% to 41.3%; a Public Policy Polling survey released October 6 showed Pritzker leading by 20 points, 54% to 34%.
The political site 270toWin averaged the two polls at 56.5% for Pritzker to 37.5% for Bailey. MultiState, a state and local government relations firm, offered no numbers but rated the governor's race "Solid D." Poll details show Pritzker winning all self-identified left voters and 97% of moderate-left voters, while Bailey holds 89% of right voters and 86% of moderate-right voters.
With Election Day on November 3 approaching, both campaigns are making their final mobilization pushes, but the published polling trend points to a clear path for Pritzker's re-election; the final result will be decided by the voters.
