Missouri Climbs to No. 19 in Both Polls; Texas Visits Next

Sunday, November 1, 2026 · States · GSM News

On November 1, the Missouri Tigers of Columbia, Boone County, Missouri, rose to No. 19 in the nation in the latest USA Today coaches poll, up four spots from No. 23 last week. The Tigers are 6–2 overall and 3–2 in the SEC, and are already bowl eligible. On the night of Saturday, October 31, they beat Arkansas 34–10 on the road in Fayetteville, behind running back Jamal Roberts's 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns and a defense that forced five turnovers — the direct cause of the rise in the rankings.

Next up, on Saturday, November 7, Missouri hosts the No. 11 Texas Longhorns at Memorial Stadium in Columbia; Texas is also 6–2, and 3–2 in the conference. The meeting of two top-20 teams is seen as a key game in the playoff race, and the winner will hold a stronger position in the first College Football Playoff rankings, to be released November 3. In the latest Associated Press poll, Missouri also rose to No. 19, while Texas moved up to No. 10.

Columbia expects large numbers of visiting fans and local spectators on game day, and the university reminded attendees to plan transportation and entry times in advance.
