Omaha Airport's First 4 New Gates Open Nov. 4 With Delta as First User

The Omaha development weekly published on November 1 reported that the first four new gates at Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, are set to enter service on November 4, with Delta Air Lines passengers as the first users. The gates are an important milestone in the airport's roughly $1 billion terminal modernization program; the new gates will ease congestion at peak hours and improve the passenger experience.
The same issue of the weekly also tracked several major projects downtown and around the city: at the former Crossroads mall site at 72nd and Dodge streets, a 38-acre redevelopment is taking shape, where about 87,000 square feet of entertainment space is expected to begin above-ground construction once the underground parking structure is poured. White Lotus Group has applied for tax increment financing for the first phase of its Civic Corner project on the former civic auditorium site, planning about 120 apartments. The Omaha City Council has approved the renovation agreement and lease for the Union Omaha soccer club's downtown stadium.
Together, the projects reflect continued investment around downtown Omaha and the airport, and the weekly's hosts reminded residents to watch for construction-area roads and changes to airport circulation.
