New Hampshire Orders Two Firms to Stop Sending Anonymous Senate Campaign Mailers

Sunday, November 1, 2026 · States · GSM News

Information disclosed on November 1 shows that the attorney general's office in Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, has ordered two companies to stop sending anonymous mailers about the state's U.S. Senate race. The office of Attorney General John Formella said the mailers lack the legally required information about who paid for them; the action was announced on October 30.

The companies ordered are Pinpoint Campaigns, a Washington, D.C., direct-mail firm, and Journeyman Press, a Massachusetts printing company. The office said the first commissioned three mailers and the second printed and sent them. Two of the mailers targeted Republican Senate candidate John Sununu over artificial intelligence and technology company issues, while the third spoke positively about Edmond Laplante and his positions on several issues. The office said it checked with the Sununu campaign, the Laplante campaign, Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas's campaign and both major state parties, and every one denied any connection to the mailers.

Both companies were told they may not send further political mail lacking the legally required disclosures. In August 2024, the same office fined a Virginia direct-mail company $40,000 over a similar problem. The case is another reminder to voters, with only two days left before the November 3 election, that the funding sources behind campaign mail should be open and transparent.
