Brewers Take the Trophy to Saturday Night Live: Three Members Cameo in Halloween Episode

The Milwaukee Brewers' championship celebration made one more stop: the World Series trophy was carried onto the stage of NBC's Saturday Night Live. According to USA Today, manager Pat Murphy, second baseman Brice Turang and designated hitter Christian Yelich made a cameo appearance in the Weekend Update segment of the Halloween episode that aired on the night of October 31.
The three appeared alongside host Colin Jost and Bobby Moynihan's "Drunk Uncle" character. Turang told Drunk Uncle the two had something in common: both had been drinking since Wednesday. Murphy chimed in that, as the manager, he was kind of like being the drunk uncle of the team. As the segment closed, Moynihan made a passing reference to Yelich somewhat resembling former cast member Pete Davidson.
The Brewers set a franchise record with 103 wins during the regular season, went 11-2 in the playoffs and beat the Tampa Bay Rays in five games in the World Series to win the first title in franchise history. After the win, the team returned to Milwaukee for a championship parade on October 30.
