Bengals Outlast Titans 43-36 in Overtime: Burrow Accounts for Six Touchdowns, Runs in the Winner

The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Tennessee Titans 43-36 in overtime on Sunday, November 1, in Cincinnati, Ohio, in Week 8 of the NFL season. According to Reuters, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow completed 38 of 48 passes for 462 yards and five touchdowns and ran in the game-winner from nine yards out in overtime, accounting for six touchdowns as Cincinnati improved to 5-2 with its third straight win.

The win was anything but clean: Burrow was intercepted three times by Titans safety Amani Hooker, the first NFL player with three interceptions in a game since Jordan Whitehead on September 11, 2023. For a second straight week the Bengals fell behind 13-0 before leading 14-13 at halftime. Tennessee went ahead 36-29 on Cam Ward's 15-yard touchdown pass to Wan'Dale Robinson with 3:46 left, but Burrow tied the game with his second touchdown pass to Tee Higgins with 1:17 remaining, and Dexter Lawrence II then sacked Ward to knock the Titans out of field-goal range and force overtime.

About seven minutes into overtime Burrow ran in the winner himself, and the Cincinnati defense held Tennessee without a touchdown to close it out. Ward finished 26 of 40 for a career-high 304 yards for the Titans, who fell to 1-7.
