LA Metro Offers Free Rides All Day on Election Day, November 3

Los Angeles County's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), in Los Angeles County, California, will offer free rides systemwide on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, covering buses, trains, Metro Micro and Metro Bike Share to help voters reach the polls.
According to Metro, new faregates will open automatically and TAP readers will be switched off on the day, while older turnstiles will free-spin. Metro Micro riders book in the app with no code needed. Metro Bike Share offers one free 30-minute ride by selecting "1-Ride" at checkout and entering code 110326; a payment card is required and time beyond 30 minutes is charged as usual.
Official ballot drop boxes are installed at multiple Metro stations, including North Hollywood, Union Station, Norwalk and El Monte. Ballots must be placed in a drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Metro says the free-ride program is meant to remove transportation barriers for the county's roughly 5.9 million registered voters. The full list of station drop boxes is on Metro's official website.
