Houston Ballet's 'The Nutcracker' Celebrates 10 Years of Stanton Welch's Production November 27–December 28
The Brown Theater at Wortham Theater Center (501 Texas Ave) in Houston, Harris County, Texas, hosts Houston Ballet's The Nutcracker from November 27 to December 28, in 37 performances marking the 10th anniversary of Artistic Director Stanton Welch's production.
Premiered in 2016, the production rotates more than 400 performers — 61 company dancers, 285 academy students and 56 community children — around a 39-foot stage Christmas tree, with the 61-member Houston Ballet Orchestra playing live. A sensory-friendly performance is set for December 18 at 1 p.m., and the run is expected to draw more than 70,000 patrons plus three student matinees.
Tickets are sold at houstonballet.org and (713) 227-2787; see the seating pages for prices.
