Rockefeller Center announced its 2026 Christmas Tree on October 26: a Norway spruce about 75 years old, 76 feet tall, 50 feet in diameter and weighing roughly 11 tons, from West Edmeston, New York, donated by Rebecca Decker.

The tree will be cut on November 5 and, after a journey of about 200 miles, will arrive at Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan on November 7, when 'Meet the Tree Day' runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be decorated with more than 50,000 multicolored LED lights strung along some five miles of wire, topped by the Swarovski star designed by architect Daniel Libeskind in 2018, which weighs about 900 pounds, has 70 spikes and is covered in three million crystals.

The lighting ceremony takes place on December 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on NBC. The Rockefeller Center tree tradition dates to 1931, with the first formal lighting ceremony in 1933. This year's tree will remain on view through mid-January 2027; afterward it will be milled into lumber and donated to Habitat for Humanity.
