Toyota Recalls 105,794 Land Cruiser Hybrids: Fuel Tube Joint May Separate and Leak Fuel

Monday, November 2, 2026 · Society · GSM News

Toyota is recalling 105,794 Land Cruiser Hybrid SUVs from the 2024 through 2027 model years in the United States because a fuel tube connection near the fuel tank may separate and leak fuel, raising the risk of a fire if the fuel reaches an ignition source, according to recall documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Toyota filed the campaign, numbered 26V673, on October 14.

In its report to NHTSA, Toyota said the affected SUVs were built between November 29, 2023, and October 1, 2026. A resin fuel tube running from the tank joins a metal tube that feeds the engine, and the retaining clip holding the joint together can lift out of position, allowing the tubes to partially or fully disconnect. Toyota has not identified a definitive cause and estimates that about 1 percent of the recalled vehicles actually contain the defect. As of October 6, the company had logged 23 field technical reports and 64 U.S. warranty claims that may be related.

The population covers 25,041 vehicles from the 2024 model year, 41,955 from 2025, 21,274 from 2026 and 17,524 from 2027. No other Toyota or Lexus model sold in the U.S. uses this joint.

Dealers will inspect the connection and install a supplemental clamp, replacing the resin fuel tube first if necessary, at no charge. Toyota expects the clamp to be ready in December, and owner notification letters are scheduled to go out in phases from November 29 through December 13. Owners can check their vehicle identification number (VIN) in the NHTSA recall lookup or call Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 and reference Toyota recall numbers 26TB23 and 26TA23.
