TANUKI: Pon's Summer Launches November 10: BMX Mail-Delivery Adventure Hits All Platforms, Day One on Game Pass
Publisher CRITICAL REFLEX and Kyoto developer Denkiworks used Nintendo's Indie World Showcase on October 28 to announce that the open-world adventure TANUKI: Pon's Summer will launch on November 10, 2026, priced at $19.99.
Players take the role of Pon, a part-time mail-delivery tanuki spending one sweltering summer on a fictional Japanese island: riding a BMX bike to deliver packages, pulling off tricks, making friends, and restoring the Great Tanuki Shrine before the end-of-summer festival. Denkiworks is a three-person Kyoto studio whose founders previously worked on the indie golf game Cursed to Golf; TANUKI: Pon's Summer is the studio's debut title.
The platform list is unusually wide for a small studio's first game: Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox on PC, plus, newly announced at the showcase, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game joins Xbox Game Pass on PC and console on day one. Pre-orders are open on Xbox and the Nintendo eShop, and buying the Switch version unlocks the Switch 2 version at no extra charge, and vice versa.
A free demo is available now on Steam with roughly two to three hours of play covering the game's first three days, and progress carries into the full release.
