Kentucky Wildcats Rise to No. 8 in AP Poll and No. 7 in Coaches Poll, Their Best Ranking Since at Least 1998

Two national college football polls released on November 1 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, put the University of Kentucky Wildcats in the top ten in both: No. 7 in the U.S. Coaches Poll and No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25, up one spot in each from the previous week.
The Louisville Courier Journal reported that the No. 7 Coaches Poll ranking is the program's highest since at least the 1998 season. Kentucky had risen to No. 8 after beating Vanderbilt 34-17 on October 24 and moved up again during its bye week. In the AP poll, Kentucky climbed from No. 9 to No. 8, about 100 points behind BYU, with the Utah-BYU result also set to affect its position; Miami stayed No. 1 at 8-0 and Georgia rose to No. 2.
Kentucky is 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the SEC, tied with Georgia atop the conference. The Wildcats travel to face No. 16 Tennessee on Saturday, November 7, kicking off at 6:15 p.m. Eastern at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.Related: Kentucky Wildcats climb to No. 8 in Coaches Poll and No. 9 in AP Top 25, their best ranking since 2022
