Follow-Up: Rockland Man Sentenced to 88 Months for Fentanyl Conspiracy: More Than 280 Grams Sold in Controlled Buys

Kerry Charlotin, also known as "KG," 36, of Rockland, a city in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, was sentenced on November 2 in federal court in Boston, in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, to 88 months in prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release. As GSM previously reported, his co-conspirator Shaquylle Burden was sentenced to five years in prison on October 19, 2026, with Charlotin's sentencing set for November 2; this sentencing completes the case against the lead defendant.
Charlotin pleaded guilty in July 2026 to one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. He was arrested and charged in December 2025 along with Burden.
According to prosecutors, an investigation that began in June 2025 found the two men actively trafficking significant quantities of fentanyl and other controlled substances in the greater Boston area. On various dates in 2025, Charlotin coordinated with Burden and met repeatedly with a federal cooperating witness to conduct controlled sales, and the two sold more than 280 grams of fentanyl, along with other controlled substances.
Following the controlled purchases, search warrants were executed in December 2025, including on Charlotin's person after he was located and arrested in South Carolina, and at multiple residences in Massachusetts. Officers recovered additional cocaine base, a loaded 9mm pistol, and approximately 131.5 grams of cocaine, some of it packaged in plastic bags that had been unsuccessfully flushed down a toilet. A firearm was also recovered from Burden's Roslindale residence at the time of his arrest.
At the time of these offenses, Charlotin was serving a term of supervised release following a prior federal conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, for which he had previously served a five-year federal prison sentence.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley, Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Boston, and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox announced the sentence. The FBI's Columbia Field Office in South Carolina provided assistance, and Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Dawley of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit is prosecuting the case. The case is part of Operation Take Back America. (Source: U.S. Department of Justice)
