City of La Mesa Issues El Niño Preparedness Message: A Particularly Wet Winter May Be Ahead

The City of La Mesa, in San Diego County, California, on November 2 released Episode 5 of its Mayor's Minute series: as the end of the year approaches and 2027 draws near, the city is preparing for what could be a particularly wet winter due to El Niño.
Significant rainfall can bring challenges to the community, including flooding, drainage issues, downed trees and other storm-related impacts, the city said. The City of La Mesa is taking proactive steps now to prepare for the potential impacts of heavy rain, and wants residents to be ready as well. In the video, the mayor explains why winter preparedness matters and how the community can work together to stay safe.
San Diego County has also launched an El Niño preparedness page for businesses, with steps to protect property, employees and operations.
