Social Security's November Payment Schedule: First Payments Arrive Nov. 3, One Group Paid a Day Early for Veterans Day

Under the Social Security Administration's (SSA) 2026 payment calendar, November benefits go out in four rounds, on November 3, 10, 18 and 25, with the first round arriving this Tuesday.
The schedule depends on the beneficiary group. People who began receiving Social Security before May 1997, and those who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), are paid on November 3. Among beneficiaries paid by birth date, those born on the 1st through the 10th of the month are paid on November 10; those born on the 11th through the 20th on November 18; and those born on the 21st through the 31st on November 25. Spousal and survivor benefits follow the birth date of the worker on whose record the benefit is paid.
The November 10 date comes a day earlier than the usual second-Wednesday slot because the second Wednesday this year, November 11, is Veterans Day, a federal holiday when banks and the Federal Reserve are closed; as usual, the SSA moved the payment to the preceding business day. It is the regular November benefit arriving one day early, not an extra payment.
SSI recipients will see no deposit during November itself: because November 1 fell on a Sunday, November's SSI payment was issued early, on Friday, October 30. December's SSI payment is due December 1, and the January 2027 payment arrives early, on December 31.
The 3.6 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2027 is not included in November payments; it first appears in benefits paid in January 2027, and personalized COLA notices become viewable in my Social Security accounts starting in late November. The SSA advises beneficiaries whose payment does not arrive on schedule to wait three additional mailing days before reporting it, and to use only official SSA channels, noting that the agency never demands payment by gift card or similar means.
