Florida Governor Names Two to Health Care District Board: Rooney Reappointed, Smallridge Appointed

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on October 30 his appointments to the board of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County: Patrick Rooney is reappointed and Kelly Smallridge is appointed. The district is an independent special district in Palm Beach County, Florida, providing trauma care, safety-net health services and other public health programs for county residents.
Rooney is a former member of the Florida House of Representatives and serves as president of the Palm Beach Kennel Club. Smallridge is president and CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, where she has long led the county's business recruitment and economic development work.
The district's board oversees its budget and health programs, with some members appointed by the governor. The governor's office said the two members will help oversee a public health system serving residents across Palm Beach County.
