Kansas Awards Over $10.7 Million in Federal Crime Victim Assistance Grants: 64 Organizations Funded

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has announced $10,795,287 in federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim Assistance grants to 64 community-based organizations across the state, funding victim services in the 2027 grant year. The recipient organizations serve counties throughout Kansas.
The grants support services including court advocacy, crisis counseling, mental health care, emergency shelter, transportation and transitional housing for crime victims and their families. Hope Unlimited in Allen County, for example, received $123,652 for its victim support programs.
VOCA assistance is a federal funding stream for victim services, awarded annually by the state to local nonprofits and public agencies. The governor's office said the awards will allow victim service providers statewide to maintain and expand front-line services through 2027.
